Agenda

공과대 캠퍼스는 폐쇄적이고 불투명한 배치로 인해 야외 공간의 활용도가 낮다. 한때 교류와 휴식을 위한 중정은 지금은 거대한 건물 매스에 둘러싸인 고립된 공간으로 남아 있다.

이 프로젝트는 실내와 실외를 매개하는 한국 전통 건축의 회랑(툇마루) 개념을 현대적으로 재해석하여, 공간의 흐름과 연결성을 회복하고자 한다. 전이 공간(transition space)을 삽입함으로써, 건물과 자연 사이의 경계를 완화하고 이용자들의 이동과 소통을 유도한다.

특히 은행나무 회랑 구간에서는 단차와 폐쇄적인 입면으로 인해 공간이 단절되어 있었으나, 새로운 지붕과 반외부 매스를 추가하여 이 단차를 극복하고, 층간을 연결하는 유기적인 보행 흐름을 형성한다.

이러한 재구성을 통해 전통적 공간 원리와 현대적 캠퍼스의 기능을 결합하며, 사람과 건물, 자연이 하나로 이어지는 새로운 공간 경험을 제안한다.

The existing campus of the Engineering Complex has a closed and impermeable layout that limits outdoor use. Courtyards and open spaces, once intended for rest and communication, have become isolated voids surrounded by heavy building masses.

This project reinterprets the traditional Korean corridor, which mediates between indoor and outdoor environments, to restore spatial flow and connectivity. By introducing transitional spaces, the design softens the rigid boundary between the building and landscape, encouraging interaction and movement.

At the Ginkgo Corridor, the level difference and impermeable façades have made the area unused. The proposal adds a new roof and semi-open mass to bridge this gap, creating a continuous path that connects different levels and activates outdoor life.

Ultimately, the design blends traditional spatial principles with modern campus functions, reconnecting people, buildings, and nature through architectural flow.
